Most travellers drive straight from Nanaimo to Tofino, passing right by some of the most beuatiful destinations on Vancouver Island. Parksville and Qualicum Beach, just 30 minutes North of Nanaimo, have much to offer the traveller wishing to break up the journey to Tofino.
Spend the day on Parksville's beautiful beach boardwalk, flying kites or enjoying a picnic by the ocean. Parksville boasts two mini golf courses for your family's entertainment.
The town of Qualicum Beach boasts a beautiful beach walk, dozens of boutique shops, coffee havens, and dining for all tastes.
Most travellers enjoy visiting Coombs Market, with its signature goats on the roof, where you can shop for unique foods, gifts, and the best doughnuts around!
Don't just pass through this area on your way to, or from, Tofino! Take a day or two to visit any or all of these local attractions, to break up the long journey and maximize your family's enjoyment!
